We’re using the power of wind to produce Green Hydrogen – a clean fuel that is in demand around the world.
The Mi’kmaw name for Bay St. George is Nujio’qonik. Pronounced
‘new-geo-ho-neek,’ it means ‘where the sand blows’.
Project Nujio’qonik will be Canada’s first commercial green hydrogen and ammonia producer, with 4 GW of renewable electricity generated by wind farms in one of the world’s best wind resource regions.
Connecting to the world
We’re perfectly positioned to meet global demand.
We have the wind. The west coast of Newfoundland and Labrador is one of the best wind resource regions in the world with more than 11GW of wind development capacity in the project area.
We have the access. We own the Port of Stephenville, with deepwater marine facilities and a harbour ready for global export.
And we have the location. Newfoundland and Labrador offers one of the shortest shipping routes between North America and Europe, with potential for co-locating industries in Stephenville.
